Hematologic diseases afflict millions of Europeans each year. The European Hematology Association (EHA), located in the heart of The Hague (Netherlands) is a non-profit professional association serving clinicians and researchers with an active interest in hematology in Europe and beyond. Our mission is to promote excellence in patient care through education, research, and advocacy.


Hematology is constantly changing and evolving. We help our members stay up to date by delivering a structured educational program, created by hematologists for hematologists. We offer a range of career development programs to help clinicians and researchers grow professionally and personally. We also advocate for hematologists and hematology at local and international levels.

EHA Guidelines Project Manager (Fulltime)


This is a project management role, where you will be part of the EHA Guidelines team and will contribute to the management and execution of all the EHA Guidelines projects. You will lead the project management with regards to all tasks connected with the organization of guidelines panels, and coordination of vendors and internal & external stakeholders. You will play an active role in the execution of the EHA strategy. You will engage with experts (externally) and you will connect with various internal colleagues.

Your responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Manages EHA Guidelines portfolio on the operational level as well as other EHA Guidelines-related project activities.
    • Portfolio and derivative activities include: the developing EHA Guidelines, EHA collaborative Guidelines, published Guidelines updates; EHA Guidelines collaborations with National Societies, the EHA Guidelines app, legal document review draft revisions, Memorandum of Understanding - draft/contract negotiations; Guidelines systematic literature review projects, EHA Guidelines Workshops, EHA Guidelines Congress sessions, internal/external Guidelines meetings/promotional activities of the Guidelines, etc.).
    • Scopes projects into actionable project timelines and deliverables and reports to the Head of Scientific Publications.
  • Guidelines coordination
    • Troubleshoots relevant issues raised by authors/project Chairs/GC Chair during the Guidelines development process with their relevant stakeholders.
    • Responsible for identifying structural roadblocks/bottlenecks, timely analyzes the issue and escalating them with issues that cannot be resolved on the operational level.
    • Defines clear applicable standards, processes, templates for Project management activities (used by project management/coordinator for operational purposes).
  • Stakeholder Management/Communications
    • Support the promotion of Clinical Practice Guidelines in high profile events of strategic importance, including National Society events, annual EHA Congress, educational/scientific sessions, Research committee meetings to promote the content of the Guidelines.
    • Works with internal and external stakeholders for Guidelines dissemination and promotion.
    • Acts as the interface between the office and external stakeholders on Guidelines-related activities based on strategic plans.
    • Helps overseeing logistics with all internal stakeholders (Guidelines workshops, Guidelines promotion, app and guidelines project management updates and reminders).


Your profile:

  • A Master degree, ideally PhD.
  • At least 6 years Project Management experience.
  • Project Management experience in the medical / healthcare sector will be an advantage (hematology).
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English (in writing and oral).
  • Stakeholder management; being able to challenge the thinking of senior experts.
  • High capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience with patient care/clinical practice content.
  • Able to handle complex manuscript priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Living in the Netherlands (for non-European nationals, being in possession of a valid work permit is required).
  • Willingness to occasionally travel outside the Netherlands (mostly within Europe).
  • Available to join EHA from July 2024.
