Part A - Instructions
1. NEXT APPLICATION DEADLINE

2. APPLICATION SCREENING
Professor G Zini is the Chair of the EHATol Unit and Project Leader for ESH – EHA Hematology Tutorials. Applications accepted in January will be for workshops beginning the following year. I.e. applications accepted in April 2008 will be for tutorials in 2009. ESH – EHA Hematology Tutorial will begin on a Friday afternoon and end on Sunday afternoon to allow faculty and participants to take advantage of apex economy class flights.
3. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
Tutorials will use existing clinical cases and self-assessment tests that will be selected by Professor G Zini from the EHATol database according to the topic selected by the Chair(s).
Before preparing your program, please choose between Myeloid or Lymphoid diseases.
For the following list of topics, 2 clinical cases and three test cases are available.
Tutorial on Myeloid (13 available presentations)
- WHO classification of myeloid malignancies
- Myelodysplastic syndromes
- Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
- Chronic Myeloid / Myelodysplastic diseases
- Acute promyelocytic leukemia
- Leukemias with recurrent cytogenetic translocation
- AML not otherwise catagorised
- Acute monocytic leukemia
- AML with multilineage dysplasia
- Eosinophilic leukaemias
- Systemic mastocytosis
- Undifferentiated and biphenotypic leukemias
- Therapy-related leukemias
Tutorial on Lymphoid (11 available presentations)
- WHO classification of lymphoid malignancies
- Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
- Chronic lymphocytic leukemia
- Follicular Lymphoma
- Villous lymphocytes lymphomas
- Leukemic phase of B-lineage NHL
- Viruses and lymphoma
- Gastrointestinal Lymphomas
- T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell neoplasms
- Multiple myeloma
- Hodgkin’s disease
When applying to organize an ESH – EHA Hematology Tutorial, potential chairs must provide:
- The preferred dates for the tutorial. When selecting a date, chairs should undertake to ensure that other major meetings covering similar topics do not coincide with the meeting they would like to organize.
- A description of the proposed objectives, the targeted audience, if the tutorial will focus on myeloid or lymphoid malignancies, and an overview of what the participants stand to learn.
- A teaching manual will be distributed to the participants and the speakers of the Workshop. Therefore Chairs and Speakers should accept to contribute a 2-3-page summary of their lecture accompanied by a list of references to guide further reading.
- A preliminary program including a list of provisional speakers and topics to be covered.
- All speakers and chairs are required to complete an on-line disclosure form at http://cme.ehaweb.org/ to report any potential conflict of interest.

The cost of renting the venue, technical support, and accommodation within close proximity. The venue where the meeting will be held, the venue must have:
- seating with desks or tables for 110 individuals,
- ideally a square shaped room with a ceiling height of 3.75 meters
- electrical outlets for three computers and a printer,
- a projector,
- two microphones,
- three cordless microphones,
- a podium
- a projection screen
- sufficient room lighting equipped with dimmers
- the name of a hotel suitable for invited chairs and speakers (minimum equivalent four star) and the name of a hotel for participants who prefer less expensive accommodation (minimum equivalent three star)
4. TUTORIAL PARTICIPANTS
ESH – EHA Hematology Tutorial, are intended to promote informal interaction and discussion between scientists and clinicians working in the field and should be developed for an audience of up to approximately 100 participants .
