Annual Congress Highlights

EHA Annual Congress Highlights is a part of EHA Outreach Program.

The immediate scope of this initiative is to offer hematologists and researchers unable to attend the EHA Annual Congress the chance to attend the most relevant educational and scientific sessions.

The lectures cover all main areas of hematology including thalassaemia, hematopoietic stem cells and alternative donor transplants, lymphoma, acute and chronic leukemia, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), pediatric hematology, and molecular and laboratory hematology updates (e.g. molecular diagnostics, minimal residual disease, et cetera).
The program includes presentations on hematologic diseases particularly relevant to the area, as well as discussions on local needs and socio-economic issues.

A long-term aim of this initiative of EHA is to establish of stronger links with hematologists and junior researchers from different areas around the world. Through the Annual Congress Highlights, and along with several other outreach and educational activities, EHA fosters international collaboration on research and education, promoting mobility of junior clinical and laboratory investigators and ultimately contributing to provide better levels of care for patients worldwide.

After the encouraging experience of the EHA Congress Highlights held in Beirut (Lebanon) in 2010, EHA organized the Highlights of the 16th Congress in Bangalore, India.
