EHA-SWG Scientific Meeting

FOCUS ON THROMBOCYTOPENIA AND DISORDERS OF PLATELET FUNCTION

DATES: September 27-29, 2013

LOCATION: Lisbon, Portugal

CHAIRS: R Stasi, F Rodeghiero

Introduction

The EHA Scientific Working Group on Thrombocytopenias and platelet function disorders and EHA will organize a three-day meeting focusing on recent developments in the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of thrombocytopenia and disorders of platelet function.

EHA-SWG Scientific meetings are designed to create a high quality scientific program and in-depth scientific knowledge within the hematology community in Europe. In particular, this meeting will comprehensively cover both inherited and acquired platelet disorders. The emphasis is laid upon clinical practice guidelines or recommendations from internationally-recognized experts in the field. Clinical case presentations with interactive discussion are also an important aspect of the program. A session will be dedicated to discussion with patient organizations and regulatory issues to better understand the currently unmet needs in these conditions. Besides that voting boxes will be used for the self-assessment of participants. For more detailed information about the event, please have a look at the program below.

Target Group

The meeting is targeted towards specialists in hematology, clinicians involved in Thrombocytopenia and Disorders of Platelet Function, basic researchers, biologists, students and everybody interested in this specific section of hematology. Given its interactive nature, young hematologists and researchers may receive a valuable educational benefit from this initiative.

EHA-CME Accreditation

The meeting is accredited by the EHA-CME system. Participants of this meeting are eligible to receive one Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit point for every hour of accredited activity from the EHA-CME system.
