Election Procedures
According to the statutes the EHA Board now consists of 10 people and must be a balanced reflection of the professional world in the discipline of hematology. Each member of the board serves for 4 years. Each year EHA members from Europe and Israel are invited by the Nomination Committee to nominate candidates for any vacant councilor positions and to vote for new councilors selected for the ballot by the Nomination Committee.
NOMINATION
All active members from Europe and Israel are entitled to nominate candidates by using the nomination form which they receive by clicking on the link in the personalized, individual “call for nomination” e-mail to login. Each nomination must be accompanied by an explanatory statement and a short list of publications of the nominee. Upon completion of the form, e-mail confirmation of the nomination is being sent and a link is included to a dedicated form for endorsing the nominated candidate. This can be sent to fellow EHA members asking them to support the nominated candidate by forwarding the link. An online membership directory is available at the website (login is required) to search for colleague EHA Members.
SUPPORT OF NOMINATION
Each nomination should be supported by at least fifteen (15) active members. Members can support a nomination by:
Submitting a support form accessible through a link provided by an individual email sent to you. In order to access the form members have to login (login details are available on the website).
The Nomination Committee will consider all recommendations from members, taking into account scientific and educational quality and area of expertise. However, the Committee remains independent in making its decision about which nominees will be chosen for the ballot.
BALLOT
The ballot consists of an even number of candidates presented in pairs. EHA members will receive an e-mail including a link to an online ballot form on the EHA website in the second week of May, enabling them to vote for candidates. The CVs of the candidates will be presented on the EHA website. Based on the results of voting new councilors will be appointed during the EHA Business Meeting at the Annual Congress in June.
