Haematologica/The Hematology Journal publishes peer-reviewed papers across all areas of experimental and clinical hematology, and follows the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE, http://www.icmje.org/).

Haematologica/The Hematology Journal require authors, reviewers and editors to declare any potential conflict of interest (http://www.icmje.org/#conflicts). In addition, the journal itself discloses any financial relationship with advertising clients and sponsors.

As of June 2010 the Impact Factor of Haematologica/The Hematology Journal is 6.416. Ranking: 10/60 in Hematology (©2006 ISI).

The journal has a monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) program that is designed for physicians who wish to advance their current knowledge of clinical hematology.
